“Brighten the Corner Where We Are with the Love of Jesus”
A big thank you to all who came out for our Trunk or Treat event this year! More kids would have been great, but it’s a start. We made one great re-connection, so hopefully we’ll see some fruit from that!
(This pic was taken before we started. Not pictured are Lori & David Luna, Deb (& Willow!) Shelhorn, Nicole Peterson, and Jeff & Pat Wells.)

The South Vernon United Methodist Church is a small, friendly church on the south edge of Mount Vernon, where every person is welcome and valued as a child of God. Our worship service is both informal and inspirational. Our music is a mixture of both traditional hymns and contemporary gospel. The messages are Biblically based, and the prayer time welcomes both the concerns and joys of the congregation and community. On the first Sunday of each month and at special times throughout the year, we share Holy Communion. The dress is casual, and in the summer months, shorts and T-shirts are welcome. Shirts and ties are welcome but not at all necessary. Likewise, for women, dresses and skirts are welcome, but not required. We are here to praise the Lord and to grow together in our love for God, for each other, and those in our community.

We are handicap accessible with a ramp that enters through the Prayer Garden. We also have a wheel chair to assist anyone.
